    John Breevaart
    Estherville – services for John Breevaart, 82, of Estherville, will be held Friday, June 3, 1994 at the First Presbyterian Church in Estherville starting at 2 p.m. The Rev. Dr. John Besore III will be officiating. Interment will be at East Side Cemetery in Estherville. He died May 31, 1994 at Loring Hospital in Sac City.

    Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. on Friday at the church.

    He was born February 19, 1912 in Roderdahm, Holland, the son of August and Marie (Peldrock) Breevaart. He received his education in the May City schools. On June 14, 1952, he was united in marriage with Leona Drake in Blue Earth, Minn. Before the couple married, he drove truck. He lived in Estherville most of his life. He worked as a construction worker for Fagre’s. He then was self-employed as a concrete worker in the Estherville area. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Estherville.

    Survivors include his wife; a son, Jack of Paradise, Calif.; four daughters, Shirley, Las Vegas, Nevada, Beverly, Pahrump, Nevada, Margie of Santa Barbara, Calif. and Charolette, Duluth, Min. and one sister, Ann DeGroote of Sioux Center.

    He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 2, 1994)

    SIOUX CENTER, Iowa -- Ann De Groot, 87, of Sioux Center died Thursday, July 4, 2002, at Sioux Center Community Hospital.

    Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Christian Reformed Church of Sioux Center, with the Rev. John Witvliet officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, with family present 2 to 3:30 p.m., at Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center.

    Mrs. De Groot was born April 18, 1915, in Zuidland, Netherlands, the daughter of August and Maria (Palsrock) Breevaart. She married Cornelius "Casey" De Groot. He died Nov. 12, 1999.

    She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church, American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
